CARISSA HAEMATOCARPA
(KAROO NOEM-NOEM)

A thick shrub or low tree with strong, forked thorns with leather like leaves.
It is one of four or five specimens in South Africa that look a lot alike with flowers
that are normally white to light pink and Noem Noem berries of dark purple that
are edible, and nice to the taste. The Amatangoeloe in Natal has a much bigger fruit up to 2.5 cm long and often is made into jams or preserves.BREAKFAST
